Join Ms. Ruzzier in room 501 and Ms. Emma in room 502 on Open House Evening to tour the art rooms and see what the art students have been up to this year! We look forward to seeing you then.
The students in the Advanced Studio Art Classes recently finished their sculpture projects. We started with warm ups to make the transition of working from 2D to 3D. We began with paper manipulation. Each student created a relief square which was was then added to this wall hanging.
As promised here are some of the finished pieces the 6th graders took home last Friday. Scroll down to the last post to see how they started.
Our students love clay! They get so excited when it is the first day of a clay project they practically skip into the art rooms. These students began with the basic pinch technique first making a "perfect pot" with equal thickness on the bottom and walls, much more challenging that you would think. Next they had total creative freedom to turn the pinch pot into whatever they wanted. They could turn it upside down, sideways, or use it in a traditional cup position, then they added clay by "scoring, slipping and blending" all pieces. This is my students in-process, and I will post some of their finished work soon.
